Many advanced users are very surprised when they try to use TELNET in Command-prompt (console). From unknown reason, Microsoft remove TELNET (client) from default available programs in Windows 7.
But, don’t worry – it is very simple to enable it.
Open START/Control Panel/Programs and then click Turn Windows features on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
In the Windows Features box, select Telnet client and click ok …
